Location: Coram’s Fields, 93 Guilford Street, London, WC1N 1DN
Salary: £10.85 per hour (London Living Wage)
Hours: 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 7pm as and when required and alternate weekends.
Contract Fixed Term contract to end of September 2021
Role Summary
For over 80 years, Coram’s Fields has provided essential support for the children and families of Kings Cross and the surrounding neighbourhoods, through the provision of a seven-acre park and delivery of a range of services including; an Under 5’s Drop In, Nursery, Out of School Club, Sports Programme and Youth Programme.
We are seeking to appoint a committed individual to the role of Grounds Person to work as part of a team responsible for the hard and soft facilities management of the buildings, park management including lawn and grounds maintenance, and assessing play equipment at Coram’s Fields.
The successful candidate will be experienced in grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, hedge cutting and general repairs including painting and decorating. Our ideal Grounds Person will have the following attributes and experience:
- Enjoy working outdoors
- Have varied skills to maintain standards: maintenance / grounds / decorating
- Be able to work on own initiative
- Awareness of Health and Safety and Safeguarding legislation and working in a safe manner
- Have excellent customer service and people skills
An attention to detail will be key, as well as a willingness and ability to manage multiple and varied tasks at any given time and manage your own time effectively to ensure that you can deliver high standards.
The diverse nature of the role will see you work with a variety of individuals, ranging from; members of the public, contract suppliers and service managers. An ability to communicate effectively will be critical to your success.
The above skills and attributes alongside a commitment and desire to learn as you grow into the role will be of the utmost importance.
