Vanity Fair by the Moving Parts Theatre Company @ Coram’s Fields

After closing hours event – adults only.

Welcome to VANITY FAIR – a giddy carousel of social climbers, buffoons and preening dandies.

In a world of gossip and speculation, all is to play for and the stakes are perilously high – for romantic Amelia Sedley, consumed with her obsessive love and Becky Sharp, an irrepressible schemer who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Moving Parts Theatre Company take a fresh, inventive approach to the classics. With a dazzling score of original music, this new adaptation of Thackeray’s tale of greed, ambition, love and betrayal transports audiences from Regency salons and ballrooms to the battlefield of Waterloo!

This is an evening outdoor performance staged in the grounds of the park. Some seating is provided but, for the best seats, bring your picnic blankets!

There are only 200 tickets and they are available through the Moving Parts Theatre Company at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/vanity-fair-tickets-1319868505229?aff=oddtdtcreator

If you’re planning to attend the event…

  • You are very welcome to bring a picnic – food and drinks for the evening, but please do not bring any glass into the park (glasses, bottles etc.). Young children use the park during the day and we need to limit the risk of broken glass.
  • We will be selling a small selection of alcoholic drinks and ice-cream before the show and during the interval – we’d love you to support the charity and the programmes we run for local young people by getting your refreshments on-site.
  • Please be aware that smoking is not permitted throughout the Coram’s Fields site. Animals and pets are not permitted in the park unless registered for medical reasons i.e. guide-dogs.
