Role Summary:
The Senior Play Worker role is an integral part of Coram’s Fields Play Service team. Acting as the
principal link between the OSC Manager and the core team of Play Workers, they are responsible
for overseeing the implementation of agreed service plans for both term time and holiday scheme
periods
Main Responsibilities:
Support Service Delivery: Contribute to the effective running of Coram’s Fields OSC and Holiday schemes, providing high-quality support for young people aged 4-12 years and helping create service programs with the core team.
Lead and Supervise: Act as the lead practitioner on the floor, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained, and overseeing the supervision and well-being of young people, including those with additional needs (SEND, EYFS, and CIN).
Promote Inclusion and Engagement: Foster an inclusive environment by delivering engaging activities that encourage social integration, positive relationships, and personal development among young people.
Work with Parents/Guardians: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child’s progress and work together to meet their personal, social, educational, and emotional needs.
Ensure Program Evaluation and Safeguarding: Lead regular evaluations of the programs’ success, involve young people in planning, and ensure compliance with Coram’s Fields’ policies and safeguarding procedures, including liaising with external agencies as needed.
Administer Records and Medication: Maintain up-to-date records, assist with the registration process, and administer medication (with appropriate training), while also deputizing for the manager when necessary.
